Laura Leigh Edwards Brown, 35, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center.   Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2021 at St. Ludmila Catholic Church.  Private family inurnment will be in the Eternal Gardens at Czech National Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.

Laura was born July 14, 1985, in Iowa City, the daughter of Terrance and Wendy (Hammond) Edwards.  She graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, class of 2003.  Laura was united in marriage to Steven Eugene Brown Jr. on July 18, 2014.  She worked as in-home day care provider for many years.  Laura enjoyed children and cared for them as if they were her own. She also enjoyed shopping, karaoke, cooking, traveling, and most of all spending time with friends and family.

Laura is survived by her husband Steven; her children Mason and Kayleigh Brown; her step-children Matt, Nathan, Katie and Trinitee; her father Terrance Edwards; her mother Wendy (Donald) Blessing; her mother-in-law Merry (Jim Bartels) Boring; father in-law Steve (Karol) Brown; her sisters Emily (T.J.) Carson, Kimberly (Tony) Eichhorn; Sister In-laws Wendy Barrios-Sanchez, Alicia Brokaw; Brother in-laws Glen Brown, Mike (Kim) Ward, Corey (Christi) Brown, Chad (Val) Brown; her aunts and uncles Timothy (Barb) Edwards, Teddy (Heidy) Edwards, Randall (Leslie) Hammond, Brenda (John) Shellady; her grandmother Janet Merta; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son Braden Brown, grandparents Emil Merta, Merlyn and Marian Edwards.
