K urt Wimer, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died on September 24, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital.   As per the family's wishes, private Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring for Kurt and his family.

Kurt was born April 13, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Benjamin Eldon Wimer and Katherine Alice Sparks Wimer. He graduated from Kennedy High School with high honors.  He enjoyed traveling, building  anything from roofs to sandcastles to igloos. Making home made beer, wine and soda. He loved playing the drums for various bands. But recently he was enjoying retirement by feeding the neighborhood wildlife n watching them roam from the comfort of his home. He also enjoyed quantum physics so much he wrote a whole book on it.

Kurt is survived by his children Cierra and Logan Wimer and step-daughter Samantha Steele (and family);grandchildren Natilee Wimer; brother Kevin Wimer and two nephews and one niece

He was preceded in death by Katherine Wimer (mother), Benny Wimer(father) Karen Wimer(sister), Kent Wimer(brother) Stacey Hutton(mother of children) and many more loved ones.
