Kevin Francis Mackey, 61 of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Ely and Palo, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.   Celebration of life services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 23, 2016 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, with Chaplain Joe Kane presiding.  Burial will follow in Rogers Grove Cemetery near Ely.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Brosh Chapel.

Kevin was born October 12, 1954 in Ely, the son of Robert and Lois (Miller) Mackey.  He graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, class of 1973.  He was united in marriage to Kathy Dubishar on April 19, 1980.   Kevin was an over the road truck driver for over 20 years.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching sports, especially NASCAR and the Hawkeyes, as well as spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Kevin is survived by his children Gary (Sara) Mackey of Wichita, Kansas, Crystal Adams and Matt (Theresa) Mackey both of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren Hailee, Channing, Zion, Anquan, Leah, Zaila, Carlie and Braxton; his siblings, Terry (Jan) Mackey of Ely, Kathy (Bill) Osborn of Ely, and Janice (Mark) Heathman of Swisher; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, and an infant brother Gary.
