Keith Lyle Millard, 79, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at the Solon Retirement Village.  Celebration of Life Services will be 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, with burial to follow in Anderson Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.

Keith was born April 13, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Derrill and Carrie (Whiting) Millard.  He graduated from Cedar Rapids Prairie High School, class of 1960.  Keith was united in marriage to Karen Mae Mikulecky on July 19, 1959, at The Little Brown Church in the Vale, in Nashua.   He served in the United States Army and was an MP, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany.  Following he worked for the Iowa City Police Department before he attended the Iowa State Patrol Academy, in June of 1966.  Keith served the rest of his career in the Iowa State Patrol, in multiple roles including as a pilot, and instructor until his retirement in 1998.  He served as a US Marshall after his retirement at the Federal Courthouse in Cedar Rapids for over ten years. He enjoyed building trains, flying model planes, hunting, trapping, gardening, studying military and his family's history.

Keith is survived by his wife Karen; his sons Rory (Laura) Millard of Glenwood Springs, Colorado and Daryl (Angela) Millard of Wilmington, North Carolina; one grandson Joseph (Nikki) Millard of Greensboro, North Carolina; great-granddaughter Ellie Millard; and his brother Burdette (Carolyn) Millard of Montana.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be directed to the Iowa State Patrol in his name.
