Kaye "Lumpy" Allen Lamparek, 58 of Swisher, died Sunday, February 5, 2012. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 8th at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, with Reverend Tom Carver presiding. Burial will follow in Castek Cemetery near Swisher. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel. Kaye was born March 24, 1953 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leonard and Grace (Kroul) Lamparek. In his early years he farmed and raised registered Shorthorns cattle, where he showed state and national champions. He also collected some classic cars. Kaye was a contract mail truck driver for Hoovestol Inc. for many years. He enjoyed working on his Harley and riding with his friends, yearly deer hunting trips with his close friends, taking care of the pond he built and spending time with his family. Kaye is survived by his mother Grace Lamparek; a brother Kevin (Sara) Lamparek; a sister Ronda (Ron) McNeal all of Swisher; nieces and nephews Mike (Kim) See, Michelle (Bob) Foss, Nick Lamparek, Scott Lamparek, and a great-nephew Cody See, an uncle Leo Lamparek, an aunt Sadie Feye both of Cedar Rapids, as well as numerous cousins. Kaye was preceded in death by his father Leonard, grandparents Ben and Anna Lamparek, Charles and Martha Kroul, two uncles Ivan Lamparek and Dale Feye, and an aunt Leota Lamparek.
