Anna Kay (Mathias) Fordice, 79 of Solon, died Sunday October 6, 2013 at her home. Memorial services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday October 9th, 2013 at Brosh Chapel- Solon, located at 100 S. Cedar St. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - noon Wednesday at Brosh Chapel. Inurment will be in Shueyville Cemetery. Kay was born on August 24, 1934 in New Hampton, IA to Gilbert "Mike" and Aileen (Mitchell) Mathias. She married Louis Fordice on October 16, 1953 in Shueyville. Kay worked as a clerk for the Johnson County Assessor before retiring in 1996. She enjoyed traveling, camping, bird watching, flower gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Kay loved watching sports, especially the Cubs, Vikings and Iowa Hawkeyes. Kay is survived by her husband Louis, children; Mike (Mary), Gary (Sharon), Dale (Kim), Judy (Larry) Serovy all of Solon, John (Sandra) of Swisher, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Laura Mathias, three brothers; Wayne, Howard, Franklin, two step sisters; Audrey Miller, Francis Carmack and an infant grandson Kyle Fordice.
