Katrina Ann-Louise Hill was called to heaven Saturday, April 22, 2006.  She was born March 14, 1988, in Whitefish, Montana.  Funeral services 2:00 pm Friday, April 28, 2006, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Solon with the Reverend Scott Meador officiating.  Visitation, 3-7pm Thursday, April 27, 2006, Brosh Chapel, Solon.

She was a senior at Solon High School and also taking classes at Kirkwood Community College.  Katrina had a passion for music.  She was an accomplished musician with many awards to her credit.  She played the tuba in the high school marching band and also sang in the choir.  She was planning to attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco, California in the fall, fulfilling a dream of hers.  She enjoyed her work at the Early Childhood Center in the College Community School District in the Before and After School program.

Katrina is survived by her parents, Susan and Raymond Hill of Solon; Grandfather and Step-Grandmother Don and Vivian Hill of Hamilton, Montana; Grandparents Ruth and Leslie Whitmer of Muscatine; sister and brother-in-law Sarah and Steven Hatch of Flagstaff, Arizona; Aunt and Uncle Julia and Myron Paulsen, Uncle Jeff Hill of Missoula, Montana; Uncle and Aunt Randy and Denise Hill of Stevensville, Montana; Uncle and Aunt Wah and Patricia Cheong and John and Owen Cheong of Walnut Creek, California; and cousins Alison Nyenhuis, Jessica and Jason Young from Muscatine.

She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Patricia Hill and Grandfather William Connor.

Katrina's lively spirit and bright smile brought sunlight into the lives of her loved ones.  She made friends easily, and the children that she worked with adored her.  She was a determined soul, who worked hard to make her dreams come true.  She will be missed immensely, but her memory will be an inspiration to the people who love her.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Katrina Hill Memorial Fund, c/o Solon Community Schools.  The memorial fund will be used for the music, band and drama departments.
