Karla Joan Clark, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Cedar Rapids. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2026, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, 2026, at Brosh Chapel. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Cemetery.

Karla was born on June 14, 1939, in Fairfield, the daughter of Karl Robert and Doris (Statler) Parcell. She graduated from West Chester High School, class of 1957, and from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1960. She worked as a nurse at the VA Hospital, Mercy Medical Center, and home health nursing in Cedar Rapids. Karla married David Clark on May 11, 1963, in West Chester. She enjoyed shopping, coffee with friends, river time at Harpers Ferry, and most of all spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Karla is survived by her children Elizabeth “Beth” (Greg) Glimco, Amy (David) Dighton, and Jeff (Tracy) Clark; her grandchildren Jack (Mae), Kelly (Ryan), Kerry, Joseph “Joey” (Samantha), Nicolas (Josie), Danielle, and Colin; her great-grandchildren Blakely, Calvin, Poe, Elle, and Daphne; her brothers Bob (Janis) Parcell and Russ (Jan) Parcell; extended family Keith Parcell and Nancy Howe; as well her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband David.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Mercy, Camp Courageous, Special Olympics and or to The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research.
