Joyce Marlene Kulhavy, 85 of Walford, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House.  Celebration of life services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Burial will be in Hala Cemetery near Walford.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.

Joyce was born September 4, 1931, on the family farm near Williamsburg, the daughter of Ervin and Veda (Davis) Hofmaster. She graduated from Walford High School.  Joyce was united in marriage to Wesley Kulhavy on May 5, 1950 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids.  Joyce and Wes farmed near Walford for many years.  She enjoyed being on the farm as well as playing cards, watching the Cubs and Hawkeyes, going to senior dining, socializing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son Randy of Walford; her siblings Gerald (Shirley) Hofmaster of Cedar Rapids, Lloyd (Janet) Hofmaster of Cedar Rapids, Bob (Charlene) Hofmaster of Fairfax, and Shirleen (James) Brown of Cedar Rapids; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Wes in 2000.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
