Joseph "Harold" Youkey, 83 of Cedar Rapids , died Sunday, December 27, 2009 at Legacy Gardens in Iowa City . Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids , temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW . Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City . Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids , temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW .

Joseph was born December 28, 1925 in West Liberty , the son of Joseph and Elsie (Amrine) Youkey. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army's 141 ^st Infantry from May 8, 1944 to May 31, 1946, where he received two bronze stars. Harold married Marjorie Klein on September 24, 1946 in Iowa City . He retired as a Building Inspector for the City of Cedar Rapids in 1991.

Harold is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marjorie.
