Joseph W. Titlbach, 87, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, January 7, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospice Unit. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Brosh Chapel.
Joseph was born on September 9, 1930. He married Lois Jean Weinbrenner on December 29, 1948 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fennimore, WI. Joe worked at Wilson and Co. / Farmstead Foods for over 45 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, carpentry, listening to country music, watching western movies, and spending time with his family. Joe was a dedicated father and grandfather, but most of all, was a loving husband and caregiver to his wife Lois.
Joe is survived by his children Diana (Gene) Strother and Ronald Titlbach, both of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and his sister Lillian Ida Berns of Luxemburg, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto J. and Edith – Ida Titlbach, brothers John and Ernest, and sister Lucille Benhart, his wife Lois, his daughter Cheryl Parsons, and his grandsons Lucious C. Prince Jr. and Benjamin Glenn Strother.
