Joseph "Pep" John Hostak, 95 of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, December 04, 2017 at Evergreen III.  As per Joe's wishes there will be private family services.  Private inurnment will be in Czech National Cemetery.

Joseph was born May 4, 1922 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Paul and Anna Hostak.  He served in the United States AirForce during World War II.  Joe was united in marriage to Helen Getlin on October 26, 1950 at All Saints Catholic Church.  Joe worked as a fireman for the City of Cedar Rapids, being stationed at B Avenue NE and retiring from the Airport Fire Station.  He enjoyed golfing, watching Iowa Women's Basketball and the Cubs, and most of all spending time with his friends and family.

Joe is survived by his wife of 67 years Helen; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers George and Paul Hostak and his sister Agnes Pospishil.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick's Catholic Church in his name.
