Jolene Raye Schulte, 81, of Walford, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, where there will be a 3:30 p.m. rosary. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, in Cedar Rapids. Burial to follow in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are assisting the family at this time.

Jolene was born on May 28, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Ray and Cathryn (Hanson) Hayward. She graduated from St. Patrick’s High School, class of 1963. Jolene was united in marriage to John Cyril Schulte, on April 15, 1967, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. She worked in the laboratory at Quaker Oats for over 40 years. Jolene enjoyed sewing, quilting, attending church groups, going to sewing conventions, and most of all spending time with her family.

Jolene is survived by her daughter Melissa Schulte; granddaughter Kalyssa Schulte and grandson KeSean John Cyril Schulte (Kylea Ritterbush); great-granddaughter Kharty Jo Schulte and a great-grandson Tsukio Schulte on the way; her siblings Tracy (Linda) Hayward and Mary Kay (Dan) Drees; as well as her nieces and nephews; and extended family Pat Stuckenschneider.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband John Schulte; her parents; and her father and mother-in-law Cyril and Barbara Schulte, her sister Patricia (Jim) Stuckenschneider, and an infant brother Ray Jr.
