John O'Connor, 72, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Mercy Medical Center.  Celebration of Life gathering will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, where there will be a 7 p.m. time for sharing.  Following will be a reception at Aces & Eights, located at 62 16 ^th Avenue SW.

John was born August 29, 1946 in Clinton, the son John and Betty (Hansen) O'Connor.  He served in the United States Army.  John was united in marriage to Judy Pulda in 1967. They were later divorced.  He later married Patricia Harris.  He worked for Enos Concrete Construction as well as Skogman Construction.  John enjoyed taking walks, being outdoors, woodworking, going for ice cream, raising his dogs, and most of all spending time with his family.

John is survived by his sons John (Tammy) O'Connor and Jason O'Connor; daughter Stefani O'Connor; grandchildren Josh O'Connor, Megan Valentine, Aubree O'Connor, Jacob O'Connor and Jett Meeks all of Cedar Rapids; his siblings Jan Hale, Mike O'Connor, Connie Gillian, and Gary Countryman; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, his wife Patricia, and his brother Duane Countryman.
