John Franklin Kindler, 56, of Solon, Iowa, passed away on March 5th, 2021, in his sleep.

He was born on June 10, 1964 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Oscar and Mary Lou (Benesh) Kindler.

John attended school in Tipton, Iowa and graduated in 1982. He learned to enjoy farming and all about hard work from his Grandpa, George. He cut wood, baled hay and did chores on the family farm. He then began helping his neighbor doing farm work and later took a job in town at The Solon Feed Mill where he worked for many years making and delivering feed. From there, John worked at F.J. Krob and Company in Solon, IA making feed, helping customers, and working in the mill.  The past couple of years, he spent his time working on the farm.

John enjoyed the great outdoors, deer hunting with his great friends referred to as the "Orange Crush". After the hunt was over, Euchre, beer drinking and stories were shared.  He enjoyed fishing, trapping, and raccoon hunting with his brother Richard, their dogs, and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Geraldine (Gerry) Kindler of Solon, brother, Richard L. Kindler of Solon, sister, Brenda Bartling (David Miron) of Michigan, ex-brother-in law, Donald Bartling of Michigan, ex-step-niece, Summer Richard (Brandon) of Michigan, nephew, Justin Bartling (Hailey) of Hills ,Teah Bartling (Zach) of Tiffin, aunt Helen Rupe of Swisher, aunt Margaret Ball of Ridge Manor, Florida, aunt Lillian Luettegens (Gary Ehrlich) of Wilton, good friends and "brothers" Brant Hubler and Cameron Boyce, as well as several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Rosa Benesh, and Otto and Olga Kindler, his parents, Oscar Kindler and Mary Lou Kindler, step-father, Richard M. Kindler, uncle Elmer Benesh, aunt Dorothy L. Olson and nephew, Donald Bartling Junior.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon, located at 100 South Cedar Street, in the lower level.  The family asks everyone attending to please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

Memorial funds have been set up through the Brosh Chapel to help cover funeral expenses.

The family would like to thank Brosh Chapel, Tipton Ambulance Services, West Branch Fire Department, E's Floral and all family and friends.
