John A. Jensen, 60, died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 following a courageous battle with lung cancer.  Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 1 at Brosh Chapel in Solon where full military rites will be conducted by the Solon American Legion Stinocher Post #460.  A luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the American Legion in his honor.

John was born February 15, 1946 in Iowa City, the son of Harvey and Sara (Vail) Jensen.  He graduated from West Branch High School in 1964 and served with the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1971.  John united in marriage with Holly Dahlgran on November 28, 1969; together they had a daughter, Julianne.  The couple later divorced.  John was then married to Kay Starbuck in the early 1980's and later divorced.

John is survived by his daughter Julianne Jensen and grandson Kaleb Sexton of West Branch; a sister Sharon Jensen Smith; nephew Dustin (Renny) Smith; niece Dana Smith and great niece Isabelle Beauchamp.  He was preceded into death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
