John Ernberger, 94, a resident of Evergreen Estates III, died Saturday afternoon, February 4, 2006 at the center of age-related causes.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids.  Interment will follow at Czech National Cemetery.

Survivors include his sons, Jon Ernberger and Sharon Ernberger, Jary Ernberger and his wife, Pat, all of Cedar Rapids; Grandchildren, Chris Ernberger (Rochelle) and their children Emily and Carter of Cedar Rapids, Dustin Ernberger (Monica) and their son Michael of Nevada, Iowa, Mindi Maher (Pat) and their children Emerson and Parker of Leawood, Kansas, Derek Ernberger (Kristi) of West Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mary Ernberger, his wife of 64 years Helen, and sisters Lillian and Elsie.

John was born on January 27, 1912 in Riceville, the son of John and Mary Ernberger.

He married Helen Watkins on December 26, 1937 in Cedar Rapids.  John served in the US Army Glider Corps during WWII.  He was employed by Square D as a stock clerk retiring in 1980.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Mercy.
