Joan "Joann" Marie Moses, 84, of Ely, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at West Ridge Care Center.  Private graveside services will be held at Rogers Grove Cemetery near Ely. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge of arrangements.

Joan was born September 9, 1937, in Solon, the daughter of Frank W. and Lottie (Hekl) Louvar.  She was united in marriage to Henry W. "Hank" Moses on March 1, 1955.  Joan worked at Peoples Bank and at Square D until staying home to raise her children and farm with Hank.  She enjoyed gardening, tending to her chickens, reading, word finds, and most of all spending time with her family.

Joan is survived by her children Steve (Denise) of Solon, Cathy Langhurst of Cedar Rapids, and Debbie (Shawn) Patterson of Anamosa; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; her sisters Judy (Doug) Blue of Clinton and Sandy Willingham of Iowa City; as well as her nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hank, who died May 17, 2013, and a brother-in-law Harold Willingham.
