Jimmie Ann Gause of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Swisher, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on February 2, 2023. Jimmie Ann was born in San Angelo, Texas on December 30, 1938 to Marion and Ann Jennings. She graduated from Texas Christian University in 1960. She was united in marriage to Robert Gause on August 20, 1960, in San Angelo, Texas. She was a Registered Nurse at St. Luke's hospital for 29 years. She was a member of the Shueyville United Methodist Church.

Survivors include daughter Kathy Gause of Conroe, Texas, Susan (Craig) Long of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin and Steven (Kyra) of Papillion, Nebraska. Grandchildren Claire (Tom) Bredahl of West Saint Paul, Minnesota, and Spencer Gause of Belleville, Illinois. Brother Wayne (Lally) Jennings of San Marcos, Texas and adopted daughter and special friend Audrey Wirtner.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and her parents Marion and Ann Jennings.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the Shueyville United Methodist Church starting at 10 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids are in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Swisher Library or Shueyville United Methodist Church.

Jimmie Ann gave the gift of life through tissue donation and encourages others to do the same.
