Jill Jonella Geerlings-Schmidt, 71, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Harmony Cedar Rapids. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time.

Jill was born on April 12, 1955, in Waterloo, the daughter of Petrus Jacobus and Dona Mabel (Gustin) Geerlings. She worked at Cornell College. Jill loved animals and more than anything loved spending time with her family.

Jill is survived by her sons Hunter (Diana) Schmidt, and Ben Schmidt; grandchildren Madison, Rocco, Bella and Hunter Schmidt jr.; and great grandchild Levi Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
