Jerry Allen McBurney, 69, of Marion, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, in his home. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Sunday March 15th at Brosh Avacentre in Cedar Rapids located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Cedar Rapids, IA, 52404.

He was born on September 11th, 1956, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Allen and Edith (Boddicker) McBurney. Jerry married Camie Holsinger on March 29th, 1974. They were married for 45 years until her passing in August 2019. Jerry owned and operated McBurney Septic Service for 52 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, shooting league pool, country music, and riding horses. He believed in working hard, doing the right thing, and taking care of the people that are important to you. He will be remembered as "the guy that you call" for…anything.
There is a quote that says, "The measure of a man is in the lives he's touched". That is the legacy that Jerry leaves behind; family, friends, and a community of people whose lives he touched.

Jerry is survived by his daughters Kara Kirk and Kendra (John) Myers; grandchildren Kolton (Kayla) and Kallie Kirk, Alyvia and Levi Myers; great grandsons Kash, Kaden, and Krew Kirk; siblings Candy McBurney and David (Diana) McBurney and nephew Adam Rowe and nieces Amy Rechkemmer, Shelly Sauer, and Stefanie Bates.

He was preceded in death by his wife Camie; his parents; and his nephew Jesse McBurney.
