Janice Marie Wood, 69 of Conroe, Texas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at her home, in Conroe following a lengthy illness.  Services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW.  Burial will follow in Anderson Cemetery in Swisher.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.

Jan was born December 31, 1939 in Belle Plain, the daughter of George and Esther Grieder Goudly.  She married Roger Benish in 1960.  He died in September of 1995.  She married Don Wood on October 5, 1996 in Orange Park, Florida.  Jan worked as a bookkeeper for many years in California and at RL Johnson Construction Company in Orange Park, Florida.

Jan is survived by her husband, Don of Conroe, TX; her son, Timothy (Shelly) Benish of Pearland, TX; granddaughter, Melanie Benish; grandson, Jack Benish; eight step-children; and 12 step grand children.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a husband, Roger Benish in 1995.
