Janet Marie (Rundall) Murphy, 84, of Solon, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Solon with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon is in charge of arrangements.

Janet was born on January 28, 1939, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Philip and Gertrude (Anderson) Rundall. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. Janet was united in marriage to John Murphy on June 25, 1960.  She worked for many years at Joensy's in Solon.  She enjoyed boating on the Coralville Reservoir, crocheting and would crochet afghans and send them to her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband John; her children Mike Murphy, Tim Murphy (Catalina Garza), Rob Murphy, Dave Murphy, and Nick (AJ) Murphy; her grandchildren Jade, Maeve, and Easton; two great-grandchildren Jonah and Eisley; her sister Susan Sundberg; as well as her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Barbara.
