James L. Vileta, 68, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at UIHC following a long illness. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre is caring for Jim and his family.

A Private Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017.

Jim was born August 27, 1948 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Richard J. and Luella (Waite) Vileta. He married Annelle B. Chamberlain on July 14, 1970 in Cedar Rapids.  He worked as a fork truck mechanic for many years.

Jim is survived by his wife Annelle of Cedar Rapids, sons Mike Vileta and significant other Sara Carter of Lisbon, IA and Travis (Meredith) Vileta of Toddville, IA,  4 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 7 sisters and brothers in-laws.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
