James Louis Trachta, 67 of Hiawatha died Saturday, February 25, 2006 at his home after a courageous battle with Mutiple Sclerosis.  Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 28 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with burial to follow in Cedar Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m until 11:00 a.m Tuesday at Brosh Chapel.

Jim was born May 6, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Leonard and Lenora Brokl Trachta.  Jim married Margot Joy Lloyd February 15, 1956.  They later divorced in 1975.  He married Karen Jensen in July of 1976.

Jim is survived by a son Craig of Marion, two stepsons Derek (Pam) Jensen and Todd (Mary) Jensen both of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Denise (Steve) Cerenzio of Claremont, Florida; six grandchildren and five stepgrandchildren; two sisters Joyce (Bob) Liebe of Central City and Carol (Vince) Woodson of Marion.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Karen who died February 19, 2006, his first wife Margot, and a daughter Jannelle Ann.

He was loved and admired by all who knew him and was respected for his positive attitude in the face of adversity.  Jim and Karen showed everyone great fortitude with life's struggles.
