Jack Lee Osborn, 74 of Toddville, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at his home from a brief illness. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2009 at Oakland Church of the Nazarene with Pastor James Leatherwood presiding. Inurnment will follow in Dunkard Cemetery in Midway. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Jack was born June 5, 1934 in Ottumwa, the son of Donald and Florence Duree Osborn. He married Elizabeth "Liz" Green on November 5, 1962 in Morrison, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Navy. Jack worked for ADM Corn Processing Plant for over twenty years until his retirement. Among the things that Jack liked were trips to the casino, going fishing, building and working with his hands on numerous projects.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Michelle Osborn of Cedar Rapids; son, Scott (Kim) Osborn of Center Point; and two grandchildren Austin Nelson and Sammijo Osborn; a brother John (Mary Ann) Osborn of Greene, his mother in law Frances Green of Cedar Rapids, and a cousin Lilla Slaymaker of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth on December 11, 2008, two sisters Nancy Lint and Betty Reed and a brother Jim Osborn.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established at Metco Credit Union in his name.
