Isabel "Liz" Paulsen, 85 of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, April 16, 2009 at St. Luke's Living Center East.  Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Coggon.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2009 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.

Liz was born March 27, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of James and Ella Todd Emerson.  She married Roger Hammond in 1950, they later divorced.  She then married Delbert "DP" Paulsen on May 5, 1985 in Newhall.  Liz enjoyed playing bingo, sewing, and dancing.

Liz is survived by her daughter, Karen (Ray) Kelsey of Shellsburg; son, James of Shellsburg; three stepchildren, Dan Paulsen, Shirley Paulsen both of Cedar Rapids; and Joyce Wendt of Missouri; three grandchildren, Rod (Jamay) Ross of California, Sherry Ross of Cedar Rapids, and Sara Gardner of Cedar Rapids; two great-grandsons, Ryan and Luke Ross; and her siblings, Bernita (Earl) Stine, and Wilda Scholz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Delbert on June 2006; two sisters; brother-in-law, Russ Scholz; and her great aunt.
