Helen Maxine Scheetz, 92, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Oaknoll Retirement Community in Iowa City. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at Cedar Memorial Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Brosh Chapel in Solon is in charge of arrangements. Helen was born March 26, 1921 in Elkhorn, Nebraska to parents Steven and Dora (Jensen) Shediwy. She was the youngest of four children. She graduated from De Soto Consolidated School. On March 30, 1942 she married Charles F. Scheetz. He died in December of 1973. There were no children. Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women since 1945. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice of charities in Helen's name.
