Helen Kathryn Koutny, 88, of Fairfax, died Saturday, November 23, 2024. As per Helen's wishes, private family services will be held. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.

Helen was born July 12, 1936, in rural Johnson County, the daughter of Charles Milo and Helen Blanch (Divishek) Bistricky. She graduated from Monroe #2 in Walford and from Paris Academy of Beauty in Cedar Rapids. Helen was united in marriage to Gerald Hofmaster and to this union, they had two children, Kim and Pam. They were later divorced. Helen wed Robert Koutny in 1997. She worked as a cosmetologist as well as a Jewelry Salesperson for Siebke Hoyt and Rogers Jewelry.

Helen is survived by her daughters Kim (Dale) Fordice and Pam (Brad) Luther; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her sisters Shirley (Gordon) Sevig and Rosie (Len) Pudil-Kulish; as well as her nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and a grandson Kyle Fordice.
