Helen Rose Kalous, 88 of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, August 15 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will follow in Anderson Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Helen was born June 15, 1923 in rural Johnson County near Shueyville, the daughter of Jerry and Rose Netolicky. She married Robert Kalous on August 23, 1939. She loved gardening, her flowers, camping, fishing, animals, and time spent with her dog Patches. Helen is survived by her three sons Lee (Donna), Ken (Patty) and Duane (Carol); five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her brother Jerry Netolicky. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother Ivan; parents and her sister-in-law Doris. Memorials may be directed to the family.
