Helen Marie Havlik, 92 of Lansing, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, October 16 at Thornton Manor from natural causes.  Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 19 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.  Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brosh Chapel.
Helen was born May 28, 1914 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of William and Emma Leffelbein Mann.  She married Adolph Havilk on December 5, 1936 in Ely.  Helen worked for over 25 years for Wilson Meat Packing.  She retired in May of 1971.  They moved to Lansing after retiring and fished on the Mississippi River in the summers and spent many winters in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas in a retiree's park.  They made many friends at the park from across the United States and southern Canada.  There was never a dull moment at the park with entertainment including exercise, potlucks, cards, bingo, and church.
Helen is survived by a son Robert (Marilyn) Havlik of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Shirley Wolfe of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren Doug, Kaleen, Carrie, Kimberly, and Jeffrey; 6 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Adolph who died September 12, 2004; and a son in law John Wolfe; two brothers, Ed and Irwin "Shorty", and a sister Louise.
