Harold Duane Hunter, 71 of Iowa City, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at Life Tabernacle Church, located at 1487 Dane Road, with Pastor Darren Murphy presiding. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Brosh Chapel in Solon is in charge of arrangements. A full obituary will be available at www.broshchapel.com Harold was born July 9, 1943 in Iowa City, the son of Alvin and Doris (Augustine) Hunter. Harold was in the upholstery business for many years in the Coralville and Iowa City areas. He enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing and tinkering with his car and truck and spending time with his family. Harold is survived by his children Roger Hunter, Harold Hunter Jr., Kimberly Hunter, Steven Hunter and Gerald Hunter; his siblings Alva Hunter, Darlene (John) Youngman, Marvin Hunter, Linda (Richard) Vermace; brother-in-law Ron Halstead; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by parents, his siblings Kenneth Hunter, Sandy Smith, Joy Halstead, Ronald Hunter Sr. and Robert Hunter. Memorials may be directed to the family.
