Avenue SW, left the confines of this world to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior, on the evening of March 17, 2007 following an illness. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with a 3:00 p.m. burial at Saude Lutheran Cemetery, rural Saude, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
BJ was born on January 21, 1976, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Harold (Bud) and Karol Spores.
BJ is survived by his parents; a sister, Leisa (Chris) Knudson, and two nieces Serena and Sophie Knudson all of Cedar Rapids; Grandmother, Maxine Spores of Cedar Rapids; Great Aunts: Hazel Hildahl (also Godmother) of Cedar Falls, Beatrice (Marvin) Burgess of Yorktown, VA, and Ruth Burnell of Cedar Rapids; Great Uncles: Owen (Carol) Hildahl of Grand Rapids, MI, Gilbert (Irene) Hildahl of LaMoure, ND, and Paul (Fran) White of Cedar Rapids; Aunts: Karen Ellingson of Cresco, Karlene (Ronald) Humpal of Decorah, Arlene Barrows of Cedar Rapids, Myra (Eugene) Barrette of Loweden; Uncles: Kenneth (LouAnn) Ellingson of Spencer, Jerry (Debbie) Spores of Cedar Rapids, Stanley Spores of Olin, John (Sheryl) Spore of Olin, Bill Spores of Des Moines; along with many cousins, and some very special nurses: Barb Schierholz, Kaylene Miller, Ronda Frickson, Dorothy VanZee, Theresa Mitchell, Kathy Dehn, Lynia Arendt, and Nancy Davenport.
BJ was preceded in death by his maternal Grandparents, Omer and Mildred Ellingson, and his paternal Grandfather, Harold Spores Sr, and various Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
