Gordon Young, 76, of Ely, passed away at his home on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Gordon was born on February 19, 1939 in Etobicoke, Ontario the son of the late Ralph and Irene (Akerman) Young. He married Ann Tobin on October 18, 1958 in Palos Verdes, California. He worked as an engineering manager for the copper and brass industry until his retirement. He was passionate about hockey, Notre Dame Football, wood carving, fishing, golfing, cooking, and most deeply about his family. In addition to his wife Ann, he is survived by; four sons, Gregory, Brian, Scott and Jeff; a daughter Erin; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Brent, Amberly, Brianna, Caitlyn, Skye, Keenan & bonus grandchildren, Hayley and Aaron; four great grandchildren; and by his brother, Ron Young. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Perkins. Private family services were held at the Brosh Chapel. A memorial in his name has been established by the family.
