Glen Zimmerman, 84, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on May 7, 2012 at Sterling Inn, Victorville, CA due to a long illness. A celebration of Glen's life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Glen was born April 22, 1928 in Elm Creek, Nebraska. He was a resident of Cedar Rapids for 16 years. He retired in 1996 after being a self employed Diesel Mechanic for 31 years. Glen was a member of Cochran's Rodeo, Horseman's Saddle Club and attending Sacred Heart Church. Survivors include his daughters, TeriLynn Wolsten Holmes of Oceanside, CA, Glenda Taylor of Cedar Rapids, Tina OQuinn of Atallisa; son, Rocky Zimmerman of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Laurie Zimmerman of Victorville, CA, Janis (Jonathan) Graybill of Victorville, CA; son, Glen Zimmerman Jr. of Los Alamitos, CA; sisters, Lois (Oliver) Walkner of Cedar Rapids, Norma Hadrava of Cedar Rapids; brother, Rick (Shirley) Zimmerman of Cedar Rapids, special friend, Lloyd (Donna) Banks of Cedar Rapids; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
