Geraldine "Jerry" S. Teel, 69, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital following a long illness. Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre located at 2121 Bowling Street SW in Cedar Rapids. Burial will take place at Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, June 12, 2017 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.

Geraldine Sue was born November 30, 1947 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Gerald Burdette and Mabel Irene (Hill) Bennett. She was united in marriage to Robert Teel on June 13, 1970 in Rock Island, Illinois.  Jerry worked as a waitress at various local restaurants and was a full time home maker and mother.  She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, camping, cooking, watching food shows and most of all spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.

Jerry is survived by her husband Robert; her children Jeff Suttles, Irene (Nam) Nguyen, Diana (Isidro Gonzalez) Teel and Robert (Melissa) Teel; twenty one grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; her brother-in-law Bob Ballinger; as well as her nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ty (Jan) Bennett, and sisters Tami (Louie) Taylor, and Dawn Ballinger.
