Gerald "Jerry" Lloyd Alderson, 83, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.  Celebration of Life gathering will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the Palo Community Center, located at 2800 Hollenbeck Road, Palo, Iowa 52324.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids is caring or Gerald his arrangements.

Gerald was born November 22, 1939, the son of Lloyd and Margaret (Edmonds) Alderson.  Gerald served in the United States Army from 1962-1964.  He worked at PMX for over 25 years.  Gerald enjoyed gardening, playing cards, viewing wildlife from his backyard window and spending time with his family and friends.

Gerald is survived by his son Sean (Shelly) Alderson; four grandchildren Marissa, Miranda, Jesse and Jerod; two great-grandchildren Sawyer and Magnolia.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Margaret Alderson, wife Connie, daughter Monica, and sister Marilyn (Roy) Wiley.
