George Stejskal, 86, of Cedar Rapids died Saturday evening, November 11, 2006 in his home.  Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids with Rev. Bill Harnish presiding.  Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids and for an hour prior to services on Wednesday.
George was born February 24, 1920 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Josef and Agnes Horusicka Stejskal.  He married Vernita J. Lnenicka on February 25, 1941 in Cedar Rapids.  George served as a Corporal in the Air Force from 1942 to 1945.  He then retired from Farmstead in 1983.  George belonged to the VFW Post 788.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing the accordion.
George is survived by his wife Vernita of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Lana Jean Stejskal (Dennis) Cobb of Solon; two grandsons Brian D. Cobb and Todd J. Cobb; a sister Dorothy Kiracofe; and special friends Sandy Williams and Bruce Jones.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Godfrey Stejskal and Joe Stejskal; and sisters Ann Tecknik and Martha Marak.
