George William"Bill" King Jr., 57, of Marion died Thursday morning, November 10, 2005 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, November 14, 2005 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, Marion with Reverend Tom Parrott officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow at Anderson Cemetery, Swisher.  Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm on Sunday at Brosh Chapel, Cedar Rapids and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
Bill was born on January 3, 1948 in Washington, DC the son of George and Mary (Thomas) King Sr.  He graduated from Prairie High School and later graduated from UNI in 1973.  Bill served in the US Army in Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star.  On April 10, 1968 he was united in marriage to Judi Hosek in Cedar Rapids.  Bill was employed by Rockwell Collins for 31 years and retired as manager of Logistics Services in November of 2004.  He was a charter member of Christ Community United Methodist Church in Marion.  He also served on the SPRC and finance committees at church.  He was an integral member of the board of ARC of East Central Iowa for over 25 years. Professionally, Bill was a member of the Institute of Management Accountants.  He greatly enjoyed the 15 years he was part of the chain gang at UNI football games.  Bill also enjoyed traveling for business and pleasure having formed many lasting friendships throughout the world.
Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years Judi King of Marion; sons Bryan King of Marion and Christopher King of Mount Vernon and his fiancée Michelle Brecke of Cedar Rapids; his mother Mary King of Cedar Rapids; sisters Nancy (Alan) Kennedy and Joanne (Scott) Carbaugh all of Cedar Rapids; brothers David (Dawn) King of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, Richard (Aimee) King of Atkins, and Robert (Elizabeth) King of Galesburg, Illinois; father-in-law Eldon (Betty) Hosek of Marion; brother-in-law Verne (Joyce) Hosek of Fairfax; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father George William King Sr., and mother-in-law Marion Hosek.
