Gene LeRoy Siders, 67 of Marion, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital from a brief illness. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, temporarily located at 3100 F Avenue NW. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.
Gene was born December 15, 1940 in Vinton, the son of Harold and Caroline (Brosh) Siders. He married Susan Huey on May 2, 1964 in Marion. Gene was an active school bus driver for Linn-Mar and Marion Independent School District after his retirement.
Gene is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susan; his son, Christopher Siders; nephew, Daniel Siders; niece, Laura Tucker; and his mother-in-law, Phyllys Huey.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents; his brother Ronald Siders; and his sister-in-law Marian Siders.
