Frank James Upah, 91 of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at  Northbrook Care Center.  Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18,  2015 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW.   Burial will be in Rogers Grove Cemetery near Ely.  Visitation will be one  hour prior to services Friday at Brosh Chapel.  Frank was born January 5, 1924 in Chelsea, the son of William and Frances  (Charvet) Upah.  He graduated from Belle Plaine High School, following he  served in the United States Marine Corps.  Frank attended Coe College and  received a degree from the University of Iowa.  Frank worked at Iowa State  Employment Service for many years.  He then worked as a personnel director  at St. Lukes Hospital until his retirement.  Frank spent a great deal of  time writing literature on religion, politics and was very knowledgeable  on many scholarly topics.   He enjoyed boating, fishing, watching the  Hawkeyes and most of all the time spent with his family.  Frank is survived by his brother Edward (Mary Ann) Upah of Tama; his  sister Marilyn (Darrell) Posekany of Cedar Rapids; as well as his nieces  and nephews.  Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Eunice Elias, and his  sister Elsie Elaine Upah.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Northbrook  Manor for their loving care and support of Frank and his family.
