Frank Drahos, 86 of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, August 5 at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness.  Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.  Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, where there will be a 6:30 p.m. vigil.
Frank was born January 5, 1921 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Frank and Amalie Plotz Pospisil Drahos.  He served in the US Army during World War II in Germany.  He married Maxine M. Barnes on May 16, 1950 in Cedar Rapids.  Frank worked for many years at Rockwell Collins until his retirement.  He loved spending time traveling and being with his family and friends.   Frank had been living with his daughter in Center Point the past three years, but he and Maxine lived on Circle Drive NE in Cedar Rapids for many years.
Frank is survived by his son Richard (Mary) of Cedar Rapids; daughters Cathleen "Cathy" (Larry) Martinson of Center Point, and Paula (Marty) Kloska of Reno, NV; grandchildren: Larry L. (Diane) Martinson, Dale A. (Tammi) Martinson, Christine (Guy) Kelly, Chris (Krista) Drahos, Deanna (David) Brewer, Jeff (Emily) Gollaher, James (Lori) Gollaher, and Amy (James) Steele; greatgrandchildren Amanda, Kurt, Forrest, Kelsey, Wyatt, Calista, Brent, Haley, Jake, Alex, Taylor, Lilly, Brook, Brett, Matthew, Michel, Alley, and James; a sister Alice (William) Mosby of Marion; brothers Stanley (Irma) Drahos of Betram, Wes Drahos of Cedar Rapids and John (Barb) Drahos of Postville, as well as many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Maxine of over 49 years, who died October 13, 1999; two sisters Molly Mach and Julia Lawrence; two brothers Ed and August Pospisil; and a grandson Allen Frank Martinson.
