Francis James Prohaska, 71, of Marion, formerly of Iowa City, died Monday, November 19, 2018 at St. Lukes Hospital.  Private graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Solon.  Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon is assisting the family.

Francis was born April 11, 1947 in Solon, the son of James and Caroline (Studt) Prohaska.  He worked for the University of Iowa in the Records Department from 1973 until his retirement 2004.  Francis enjoyed raising chickens, ducks, geese, and pigeons.

Francis is survived by his sister Ruth (Francis Sr.) Frauenholtz of North Liberty; lifelong friend Bill Hanks of Marion; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and a niece Mary Ann Prohaska.
