Francis "Mac" E. McLaskey, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Iowa City. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, and an hour prior to services Saturday at Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church. Francis was born January 5, 1946 in North Conway, New Hampshire, the son of Lloyd and Bertha May (Pike) McLaskey. He married Judith Ann Benesh on September 19, 1970 in Biddeford, Maine. Mac served in the United States Army and Marine Corps for over seven years. Mac was an equipment mechanic for the City of Cedar Rapids at Water Pollution Control for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, Roughrider hockey games, NASCAR, going to the casino, and the time spent with his family. Mac was very involved with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). He was also a member of Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, the Purple Heart, Fairfax American Legion, and the Cedar Rapids VFW. Mac is survived by his wife Judy; daughters Lori McLaskey, Melissa (Danny) Pierce, Tammy McLaskey all of Cedar Rapids; sons Jeffrey (Tina) McLaskey, and Jeremy McLaskey both of Coraville; five grandchildren, Danielle and Justin Pierce and Zohrae, Jonas, and Jack McLaskey; brothers Lloyd McLaskey Jr., Maurice McLaskey, Carroll McLaskey, Clayton (Jane) McLaskey, Randy McInnis, Colin McLaskey; sisters Faye Derrow, Viriginia (Kenneth) Waterhouse all of Maine, LoLita (Clarence) Sheats of Virginia, and Anita Applegate of Michigan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Jerry McLaskey. Memorials may be directed to Hus Memorial Presbyterian Church, Camp Wyoming or DAV Chapter 10 Transportation Fund.
