Frances Arlene Fliehler Volak, 92 of Cedar Rapids died Sunday, December 16 at Higley Mansion from a lengthy illness.  Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 20th at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.  Burial to follow in Czech National Cemetery.   Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids.

Frances was born August 19, 1915 in Strawberry Point, the daughter of August and Hazel Dunn Fliehler.  She married Charles Volak on August 31, 1935.

Frances is survived by a daughter Charlene Gillis of Cedar Rapids, a son Ron (Helen) Volak of Ft. Mohave, Arizona; grandchildren Diane (Robin) Knuckles, David (Sajee) Volak, Debbie (Mike) Hunt, Brian (Nicole) Volak, Eric Gillis, Scott(Angela) Gillis; greatgrandchildren Ian Knuckles, Waylon Wood, Heather Heffernon, Kyle Hunt, Karlie Hunt, Alexandra (Lexi) Volak, Nicole Gillis, Zac Gillis; a greatgreatgranddaughter, and a sisters in law Genevieve "Tootsie" Volak and Irene Fliehler.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Charles, brothers Harold, Charles and Max Fliehler, a grandson Donald Todd Volak and a brother in law Frank Volak.
