Frances P. Miller, 91 of Marion, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at Summit Pointe Senior Living in Marion. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, with Fr. Chris Podhajsky presiding. Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Frances was born March 20, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lloyd B. and Sarah (Stribling) Reynolds. She graduated as valedictorian from Lisbon High School in 1942. Frances was united in marriage to Stanley Miller on May 18, 1948 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. She worked as lab technician at Quaker Oats for many years until her retirement in 1981. Frances enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, and word puzzles. In her early years, she enjoyed going to dances with Stanley. Most of all she cherished the time spent with family, and never met a dog she did not like. Frances is survived by her daughters Carol Johnson of Johns Creek, Georgia and Connie (Patrick) Barrett of Largo, Florida, and Gloria (David) Cowguill of Marion; four grandchildren Matt Johnson, Julie (Doug) Pace, Ryan (Kim) Barrett and Andrew Cowguill; four great-grandchildren Kinsey and Preston Johnson, William and Megan Pace. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Stanley, and her siblings. Memorials may be directed to either Cedar Valley Humane Society or St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in her name. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Summit Pointe and to Hospice Compassus for their loving care and support of Frances.
