Florence Emaline Kadlec, 83 of Center Point, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospital. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Burial will follow in Czech National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Florence was born September 17, 1931 on the Klinsky Family Farm, near Ely, the daughter of H.W. and Stella (Novak) Klinsky. She graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1949. Florence was united in marriage to Donald Kadlec on March 2, 1954 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ely. Florence and Don farmed near Center Point for over forty three years. She later worked at Younkers - Westdale for more than ten years. She was a member of the Center Point United Methodist Church, where she was active in many women's organizations, as well as Betty's Grove Homemakers Club. Florence enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, traveling, and spending time with her family. Florence is survived by her husband, Donald Kadlec; son, Keith (Sharon) Kadlec of Hiawatha; daughter, Carolyn (James) McAuliffe of Long Beach, California; two grandchildren, Michelle Bevins and Stephanie McCord; three great-grandchildren Spencer Bevins, Logan Couch and Wayde McCord; brothers, Glenn Klinsky of Ely, and Harold (Dorothy) Klinsky of Marion; and her sister, Ellen Jones of Ely. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Carl Klinsky; brother-in-law Edmund Jones, and her sister-in-law Darlene Klinsky. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or to the charity of your choice in her name.
