Florence Agnes Baker, 93 of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, November 9, 2015 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab Center. Celebration of Life services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW. Inurnment will be in Swan Lake Cemetery in Peoria, Illinois. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre. Florence was born January 8, 1922 in Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Archie and Violet (Bray) Dearman. Florence served in the United States Army Air Force during World War II as nurse. Following she worked at Peoria Methodist Hospital for many years. Florence was united in marriage to James Baker in 1966. She enjoyed dancing, arts and crafts, fishing and spending time with her friends and family. Florence is survived by her son Ronald Towne of Gordo, Alabama; four grandchildren Mark Towne of Waterloo, Donna (Bobby) Brawner and Timothy Towne both of Cedar Rapids and Tom (Cheryl) Towne of Onalaska, Wisconsin; great-grandchildren Justin, Nathan, Brandon, Jennifer, Dennis, Kristi, Chaise, Kenneth, Timothy Jr., Wesley, Tommy, Caitlyn, Raiana; two great-great-grandchildren Ashley and Sierra; and her two sisters Patricia Eickles of Jamestown, California and Ruth Lane of Windsor, Illinois. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Harold, Edward, Willard and John Dearman, and her sister Mildred Dearman. Memorials may be directed to the family.
