Fenry Awes, 48, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Funeral services will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, with burial in Czech National Cemetery. Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre are assisting the family at this time.

Fenry was born on October 16, 1976, in Pohnpei, Micronesia, the son of Aluis and Perdina Awes. Fenry was an amazing baseball player, his favorite position was first base and would play as often as he could join a team. The first team Fenry joined in Cedar Rapids was the CR Islanders. Fenry would make friends everywhere and had friends of all ages. Fenry enjoyed Watching sports, and hanging out with his friends, but more than anything he loved spending time with his Family and his dog.

Fenry is survived by his partner Cathreen; his children Axel, Hailey, and Gavin; and his siblings Loli and John.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Sosi and Susan.
