Evelyn Olive Lamparek, 93 of Cedar Rapids died Monday, December 18, 2006 at Heritage Nursing and Rehab from a lengthy illness. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 21 at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Burial will follow in Cedar Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Brosh Chapel and for an hour prior to services Thursday at the chapel.
Evelyn was born August 30, 1913 in Cedar Rapids the daughter of Ludvik and Julia Cerveny Petrak. She married Emil Lamparek on April 20, 1937 in Cedar Rapids. Evelyn and Emil farmed in the Cedar Rapids area for many years. She was very active in many organizations including the National Czech Museum, Eastern Star, and the Farm Bureau Extension Service. She was a past award winner of the Mother of Year. Evelyn loved to garden and spend time tending to the flowers and produce around the house.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Joyce (John T.) Anderson of Cedar Rapids, and Judith (John H.) Lanum Jr. of Virginia; six grandchildren, eleven greatgranchildren and one greatgreatgrandchild; a sister Ruth Bys of Cedar Rapids as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Emil who died December 16, 2005, a sister and brother in law Agnes and Wallace Mills, a brother and sister in law Jordan and Irene Petrak, and a brother in law Bill Bys.
